Space Coast took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Cedar Creek Christian Saints 59-0. The win was nothing new for the Vipers as they're now sitting on six straight dating back to last season.
Space Coast found their leader in sophomore Zion Sandy, who threw for 175 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Bradyn Cook was in the mix too, providing the Vipers with two scores.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Space Coast, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Junior Fider, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Space Coast's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Cook got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Space Coast will host Gateway at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Cedar Creek Christian, they will welcome St. Joseph Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
