Pahokee is 0-7 against Clewiston since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will head out to square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Pahokee earned a 9-4 win over Inlet Grove. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Isaac Sarmiento made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Tiyler Rothstein and Markevious Perry did most of the damage at the plate: Rothstein got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs, while Perry went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Rothstein has become a key player for Pahokee: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise. Timothy Tidmore also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Pahokee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Clewiston ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Avon Park, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since March 5th.
Clewiston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylin Herrera, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Pahokee's record now sits at 7-9. As for Clewiston, their record is now 10-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pahokee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 12.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clewiston struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pahokee suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Clewiston in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
