The North Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 53-29 walloping at the hands of Maple Heights.
Maple Heights found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn Dillard, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dillard has scored at least a third of Maple Heights' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovannah Nichols, who scored nine points.
North has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Maple Heights, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
North will head out on the road to square off against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maple Heights, they will be playing at home against the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lorain is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
