Mesick is 7-1 against Pentwater since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Mesick Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Pentwater Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Mesick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Mesick had to settle for a 47-45 defeat against Marion. Mesick has struggled against Marion recently, as their match last Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Mesick's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kayla McCoy, who scored 16 points along with nine assists and six rebounds, and Rylee Blach who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blach has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Lagrow, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Mesick were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Pentwater scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Mason County Eastern with a sharp 52-31 win. The win was just what Pentwater needed coming off of a 47-24 loss in their prior contest.
Mesick's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Pentwater, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Mesick took their win against Pentwater in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 51-31. With Mesick ahead 30-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.
