The Foundation Academy Lions will head out to square off against the Edgewater Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Foundation Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Foundation Academy not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7, 2025 (when they won 15-0). They put the hurt on Ocoee with a sharp 15-2 victory. The Lions have beaten the Knights the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.
Lucas Hall and Bryce Parker dominated on the mound. Hall pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Parker tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Parker has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Foundation Academy got a massive performance out of Liam Lee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Lee a new career-high. Ethan Pate was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Foundation Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Edgewater was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They came up short against Orangewood Christian, falling 13-1. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost six in a row.
Edgewater saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yusef Charles, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Landyn Rosado also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Foundation Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Edgewater, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1.
Foundation Academy got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Edgewater by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
