Metairie Park Country Day had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Independence Tigers 73-40. The Cajuns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Haymann Milton, who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Kordell Hines, who put up 11 points.

The win was the fifth in a row for Metairie Park Country Day, bringing their record for this year to 24-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 19-18.
