Bridgeland is 2-8 against the Panthers since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bridgeland Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Cypress Springs Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Bridgeland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-59 to the Spartans. Bridgeland has not had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Cypress Springs entered their tilt with the Wildcats with 23 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 24. Cypress Springs blew past the Wildcats 72-37 on the road on Friday. Cypress Springs has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 23 points or more this season.
Ayla Mcdowell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 17 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. Jemini Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Bridgeland's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Cypress Springs, their win bumped their record up to 26-2.
Bridgeland was dealt a bruising 83-33 loss at the hands of the Panthers when the teams last played back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bridgeland was down 45-14.
