The Hattiesburg Tigers won the last time they faced the Forest Hill Patriots, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Hattiesburg came out on top against Forest Hill by a score of 46-36. Given Hattiesburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Forest Hill is ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Logan Burns, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Keys, who scored ten points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Hattiesburg and bumps their season record up to 24-2. As for Forest Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.
Hattiesburg will head out on the road to square off against Petal at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Petal will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hattiesburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Forest Hill, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Jim Hill at 8:30 p.m. on February 5th.
