Basketball Recap: Front Range Baptist's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Front Range Baptist entered their game against Loveland Classical on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Front Range Baptist Falcons fell to the Loveland Classical Lions 41-36. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 68-57 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Front Range Baptist's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Pierce, who posted seven points. The dominant performance also gave Pierce a new career-high in blocks (two). Rohan Galyardt also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Even though they lost, Front Range Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 33 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Loveland Classical got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kole Doan out in front who put up 12 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Jensen, who scored nine points along with six boards and three steals.

Front Range Baptist's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. As for Loveland Classical, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Front Range Baptist and Loveland Classical should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. Front Range Baptist will face off against Weldon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday up 177 places (126 vs. 303). Front Range Baptist will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. Similarly, Loveland Classical (ranked 71st) will meet William Smith (ranked 328th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
