After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last eight matches, Buckeye finally came back down to earth on Monday. They fell 3-0 to the Verrado Vipers. The Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Buckeye saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleikaumaka Ellis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Ellis has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Buckeye's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Verrado, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

While Buckeye had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
