Van Meter (Iowa) defeat West Central Valley (Stuart, Iowa) 50-14 after a solid game from
Cody Blackwell, who rushed for four touchdowns.
After taking the lead on a safety in the first quarter, the Bulldogs were up 30-8 at the half.
Van Meter expanded its lead to 29 points entering the fourth quarter. VM scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Blackwell.
With the win the Bulldogs extended their winning streak to eight games. Van Meter defeated Pella Christian 14-13 last week.
Van Meter came into the game allowing 10.6 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 35-7 win for VM.
Van Meter (8-0) goes up against Des Moines Christian when they take the field next week. The Lions have put together a 2-5 record on the year so far.
