Knightstown is 0-5 against Rushville since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Knightstown Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Rushville Lions at 7:30 p.m. Knightstown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Knightstown came up short against Winchester Community and fell 56-45.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Michael Roberson, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 37.8% of Knightstown's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Palmer Newkirk, who scored eight points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Rushville also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to New Castle by a score of 49-36. While losing is never fun, Rushville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while New Castle is ranked 152nd).
Despite the loss, Rushville got a solid performance out of Keegan Bowles, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Quentin Cain was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Knightstown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Rushville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
