Flanagan hasn't had much luck against Stoneman Douglas recently, but that could start to change  on Wednesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Flanagan Falcons  take on  Stoneman Douglas Eagles at 6:00  p.m. The last four games Flanagan has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Flanagan's  victory against Dr. Krop wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Flanagan had just enough and edged out Dr. Krop  6-4.
 Caden Corzo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts (two). He was also big at the plate,  getting  no  hits from his three  at bats. He also put up an  RBI, which was his first of the season.
 In other pitching news, Flanagan got a great performance from  Ethan Cabrera as he  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. Cabrera has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances.

 Back at the plate,  Miguel Colmenares was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Carter Roberts, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Stoneman Douglas entered their tilt with Bishop Snyder on Thursday with 11 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 12. They never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with  an   8-0  win. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than six  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Chase Wildroudt tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
 On the hitting side, Stoneman Douglas let  Bennett Gary and  Nick Diaz run wild. Gary  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2, while  Diaz  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.  Cade Raley was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Stoneman Douglas was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Snyder only posted a  batting average of  .192.
 Stoneman Douglas pushed their record up to 13-1 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Flanagan, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Wednesday. Flanagan hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.5  home runs per game. However, it's not like Stoneman Douglas struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 0.6  home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
 Flanagan couldn't quite get it done against Stoneman Douglas in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 as they fell  7-4. Can Flanagan avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
