KANSAS CITY, Mo.
– United Soccer Coaches and MaxPreps announced Thursday the ten athletes that have been named United Soccer Coaches/MaxPreps High School State Players of the Week for their on-pitch efforts from Feb. 22-28.
Results and statistics provided by MaxPreps.com are used to help recognize one boy and one girl from each participating state competing during the winter season.
Coaches wanting to nominate players must submit statistics to MaxPreps in order for their athletes to be considered. Winners receive a MaxPreps/United Soccer Coaches branded letterman's patch and recognition on both MaxPreps and UnitedSoccerCoaches.org.
Nominations are due each Sunday by 11:59 p.m. ET to be considered.
Here are this week's winners:
In two matches, Provenzano combined for ten goals and five assists.
In her only match of the week, Rolfe dominated pouring in eight goals and two assists.
Valbuena scored four goals through two wins against Lakeland Christian and Bolles.
Larriu scored four goals in her sole match of during the past week.
In the only match of the week, Brown scored one goal to secure a victory for Lusher.
In one game, Harrison combined for three goals and one assist.
With a great scoring week, Moise averaged three goals per match through three games during the week.
At keeper, Fierros was an absolute menace, combining for thirty-three saves in four matches.
Lopez had a solid week showing off her offensive abilities ending with seven goals and four assists in 3 matches.
Nugent had a solid week, ending with one goal while providing solid leadership for his team.
Cortes was a defensive savant for the week, ending with two shutouts in her two matches.
