Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Southwest Dragons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were the victim of a rough 29-7 defeat at the hands of Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on Friday. Southwest's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Timothy Olague threw for 145 yards and a touchdown. Aazeryuan Voss was his top target, picking up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Charles Stemley rushed for 36 yards.
Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial is on the road again on Friday and play against Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Veterans Memorial is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
