The South Hills Huskies will be playing at home against the Los Osos Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
South Hills pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 38-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glendora. While losing is never fun, South Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 419th, while Glendora is ranked 174th).
South Hills might have lost, but man, Matthew Moreno was a machine: he rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 113 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Danny Resendiz, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Los Osos, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-13 loss to Colony on Friday. Los Osos has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Although Los Osos took the loss, they still got scores from Nicolas Martinez and Mason Overacker.
South Hills now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Los Osos, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
South Hills suffered a grim 28-7 defeat to Los Osos when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will South Hills have more luck at home instead of on the road?
