The Palmview Lobos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rio Grande City Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Palmview comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Palmview fell victim to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's stalwart defense two Thursdays ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Raiders on the road and fell 55-0. While losing is never fun, Palmview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 970th, while Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North is ranked 95th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-14, which was the final score in Rio Grande City's tilt against Vela two Fridays ago. Rio Grande City has struggled against Vela recently, as their matchup two Fridays ago was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 2-4.
Palmview came out on top in a nail-biter against Rio Grande City in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, sneaking past 17-14. Will Palmview repeat their success, or does Rio Grande City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
