Make it nine blowout wins for the Lawrence Academy Warriors this season. They blew past Northeast Academy 53-20 at home on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for Lawrence Academy who now have three in a row.
Lawrence Academy found their leader in underclassman Mari Larry, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Larry has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nike Wiggins, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Northeast Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jaden Medford scored eight points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Northeast Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Lawrence Academy pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Northeast Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence Academy will take on the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeast Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
