Softball Game Preview: Fowler Redcats vs. Yosemite Badgers

Fowler has gone a perfect 3-0 against Yosemite recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Fowler will head out on the road to challenge Yosemite at 4:00 p.m. Fowler is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Fowler took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Chowchilla. The Redcats haven't had any issues with the Tribe recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Izzy Lopez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Fowler let Andreya Mendoza and Natalie Gonzales run wild. Mendoza scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Gonzales scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Anaiyah Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Yosemite was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 12-2 to Caruthers.

Fowler now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Yosemite, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Fowler took their win against Yosemite in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fowler since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
