They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 35-34 to Providence Prep. Methodist Children's Home has struggled against Providence Prep recently, as their match on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Methodist Children's Home saw an underclassman step up: Londen Bickham scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Bickham hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Elijah Williams, who scored five points along with two steals.
Methodist Children's Home's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Providence Prep, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Methodist Children's Home will stay at home for another game and welcome Hill at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 two weeks ago. As for Providence Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Mary's at 8:00 p.m.
