The Kingsland Knights entered their tilt with the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Kingsland claimed a resounding 58-29 win over the Falcons at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Kingsland just coasted through the last quarter.
When it comes to explaining why Wabasha-Kellogg lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Ileana DeAngel. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 62.1% of Wabasha-Kellogg's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mackenzie Paddock was another key contributor, scoring two points along with nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Wabasha-Kellogg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Kingsland's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, their loss was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-18.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingsland and the Athletics will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wabasha-Kellogg is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Minnesota (LeRoy-Ostrander is ranked 392nd, while the Falcons are ranked 372nd).
