Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 27 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact the Clearfield Falcons proved on Wednesday. They came out on top against Bonneville by a score of 47-38. That's another feather in the cap for Clearfield, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Clearfield found their leader in underclassman Isabelle Wyaskett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Jayla Kearns was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Bonneville still got an impressive performance from Sidnee Geerdes, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tyler Moss, who scored seven points along with five assists and three steals.
Clearfield's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Bonneville, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Clearfield will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. Woods Cross is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Bonneville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Royals at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Roy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
