It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Grafton Gators had no problem doing just that on Friday. They didn't even let South onto the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for Grafton who now have five in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Finn Gilmore, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
Grafton has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 7-2 record. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: South, Shepherd Hill Regional, and Doherty Memorial. As for South, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grafton will take on Marblehead at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Marblehead is ranked 61st, while Grafton is ranked 43rd). As for South, they will be playing at home against St. John's at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John's is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
