Minatare will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Creek Valley. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.
Last Friday, Minatare put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. Everything came up roses for them against Potter-Dix as the squad secured a 98-16 win. Among those leading the charge for Minatare was senior Ephroen Lovato, who rushed for 142 yards and 5 touchdowns. That makes it seven straight good games in a row from Lovato.
Meanwhile, after flying high against Potter-Dix three weeks ago, Creek Valley came back down to earth. Creek Valley took a hard 39-59 fall against South Platte. Creek Valley's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Minatare's victory lifted them to 6-1 while Creek Valley's defeat dropped them down to 3-4. If Minatare want to win, Minatare will need to focus on stopping Creek Valley's junior Patrick Hansen, who passed for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, and senior Sam Grabowski, who snatched 2 receiving TDs and picked up 39 yards on the ground. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
