The Cedaredge Bruins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 33-24 to Grand Valley. Cedaredge has struggled against Grand Valley recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Cedaredge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Hanson, who scored four points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carley Malinowski, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Cedaredge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Jaycee Pittman, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four steals for Grand Valley. Pittman is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Cedaredge's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Grand Valley, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedaredge will take on Meeker at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meeker is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.1 points per game. As for Grand Valley, they will be playing at home against North Fork at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Fork will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Grand Valley is ranked 41st).
