Campo Verde didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Christopher Hernandez picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
Sunnyslope's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Campo Verde, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3.
Sunnyslope beat Campo Verde 31-21 when the teams last played back in October of 2023.
