Lowry is 9-1 against Spring Creek since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Last Friday, Lowry faced Fernley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lowry took a 66-52 bruising from Fernley.
Despite the defeat, Lowry had strong showings from Savannah Stoker, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds, and Britain Backus, who scored 20 points. That was a full 38.5% of Lowry's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Spring Creek was handed a 51-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Elko on Wednesday. Spring Creek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-29 victory over Elko. The win was just what Spring Creek needed coming off of a 69-18 defeat in their prior match.
Spring Creek relied on the efforts of Brianna Dimick, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Ryan Youngblood, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Dimick is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.
Lowry's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Spring Creek, they pushed their record up to 6-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Lowry hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 55.6 points per game. It's a different story for Spring Creek, though, as they've been averaging only 29.3 points per game. The only thing between Lowry and another offensive beatdown is Spring Creek. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Lowry against Spring Creek in their previous matchup on January 4th as the squad secured a 51-14 victory. With Lowry ahead 39-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.
