Division II-AA recap October 22, 2013
Briarcrest Christian moved up to 84 from 115 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Division II-AA. The Saints were able to move up by topping Christian Brothers 21-19.
Pope John Paul II fell to Father Ryan 47-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Breck Ruddick was a passing and rushing force as the Purple Wave fell to Briarcrest Christian. He completed 5 passes for 113 yards and also ran for 28 yards. Ruddick's favorite target this week was Warner Hill, who caught 3 passes for 89 yards.
Colton Neel was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 90 yards on 11 carries as Memphis University beat St. Benedict at Auburndale. Marcus Evans also contributed to the rushing game with 35 yards on the ground.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Perry. The Memphis University star has 32 catches for 558 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Ensworth and Baylor. The Tigers enters the contest ranked first in the state, while the Red Raiders ranks 11th.
Connor Harris of the Christian Brothers is only 26 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Harris has rushed for 974 yards on 186 carries so far this year.
