Therrell fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Coretta Scott King YWLA by a score of 44-35 on Tuesday. That looming 44-35 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Therrell yet this season.
Therrell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emani Scott, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scott has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Azil Hazzard, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They were beaten by North Cobb Christian 55-20 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, KIPP Atlanta Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while North Cobb Christian is ranked 200th).
Therrell has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Therrell, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-19 loss to KIPP Atlanta Collegiate when the teams last played back in February of 2023.
