The Northside Patriots will look to defend their home court on Friday against the McIntosh Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Northside's 21-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenforest. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Greenforest is ranked 83rd).
Morgan Thomas put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariah Davis, who scored 12 points.
McIntosh can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over Hapeville Charter. The win was just what McIntosh needed coming off of a 71-41 loss in their prior matchup.
Northside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for McIntosh, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Everything came up roses for Northside against McIntosh when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 94-46 win. With Northside ahead 45-22 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
