The Delphi Community Oracles are taking a road trip to square off against the Pioneer Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Delphi Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Delphi Community barely beat Clinton Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Oracles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Oracles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.
Alyissa Stier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kayi Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.
Delphi Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Pioneer not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 12-2). Everything went their way against North Judson-San Pierre as they made off with a 6-0 victory.
Not much got past Lois Layer, who gave up just seven hits and racked up nine Ks to keep North Judson-San Pierre off the board. Layer has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ava Beasy and Averi Layer did most of the damage at the plate: Beasy went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Averi went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Madyson Shaffer, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Delphi Community's record now sits at 8-4. As for Pioneer, their record is now 4-7.
Pioneer's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Delphi Community has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .478. It's a different story for Pioneer, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Delphi Community's hitters?
Delphi Community came out on top in a nail-biter against Pioneer when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Oracles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
