After three games on the road, Calvary Christian is heading back home. They will take on the Dunellen Destroyers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Calvary Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Dunellen likes a good challenge.
Last Monday, Calvary Christian didn't have too much trouble with Piscataway Vo-Tech on the road as they won 55-36. Given Calvary Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Piscataway Vo-Tech is ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Dunellen beat South Amboy 63-51 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Dunellen.
Dunellen found their leader in underclassman Vibert Reynolds, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Jamael Davis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Calvary Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Dunellen, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season.
Calvary Christian beat Dunellen 58-50 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Calvary Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dunellen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
