The Richland Northeast Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 48-20 loss at the hands of A.C. Flora. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Richland Northeast in their matchups with A.C. Flora: they've now lost eight in a row.
Mckenzie Rueger and Lujain Jallab certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Rueger scored four points, while Jallab scored no points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Richland Northeast struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
A.C. Flora's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Mickens led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar McCray, who scored 18 points.
Richland Northeast now has a losing record at 6-7. As for A.C. Flora, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Richland Northeast will be playing at home against Ridge View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ridge View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. As for A.C. Flora, they will take on South Pointe at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Pointe is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
