Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Christian Academy's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

Jacksonville Christian Academy easily dispatched Bethel Assembly Christian Academy back in December of 2024, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors fell just short of the Hilltop Christian Chargers by a score of 37-35 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Conquerors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Chargers are ranked 253rd).

Despite the loss, Jacksonville Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Nylah Moore, who posted 22 points and five steals. Moore's evening made it 22 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Paradysz, who earned eight points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Meleah Bell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hilltop Christian, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Bell has posted since back in February of 2024. Jamie Lewis was another key player, putting up four points along with six rebounds and four steals.

With the loss, Jacksonville Christian Academy broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3. As for Hilltop Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

Jacksonville Christian Academy will face off against Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hilltop Christian, they will take on Wilson Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
