The Ridge Community Bolts suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Davenport, falling 70-32. Ridge Community has not had much luck with Davenport recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Ridge Community saw an underclassman step up: A. Benoit scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Benoit has scored all season.
Sorayah Emilien continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Davenport, scoring 31 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Emilien has scored at least a third of Davenport's points. Another player making a difference was Ariana Ballan, who scored 19 points.
Ridge Community's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Davenport, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Ridge Community will head out on the road to take on Fort Meade at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Meade's defense has only allowed 27 points per game this season, so Ridge Community's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Davenport, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
