The Beachside Barracudas entered their tilt with the Orange Park Raiders with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Beachside came out on top against Orange Park by a score of 52-41 on Wednesday.
Beachside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madilyn (Madi) Ray, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 blocks. Ray is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Cremen, who scored 15 points along with five assists and four steals.
Despite the loss, Orange Park still got an impressive performance from Piera Alexander, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Alexander posted two or more blocks. Mychaela Parker was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Beachside's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Orange Park, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beachside will take on Creekside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Orange Park, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against University Christian at 2:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (University Christian is ranked 104th, while Orange Park is ranked 80th).
