Shoshoni has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Wind River Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Shoshoni suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 40-18 loss at the hands of Big Horn. Shoshoni found out winning isn't easy when your three-point shooting is a whole 21% worse than the opposition.
Madi Ramage was Shoshoni's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Morgan Donelson held things down on the boards with six rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
While Wind River couldn't quite beat Burlington on Saturday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 36-point defeat they were dealt on Friday. Wind River fell just short of Burlington by a score of 45-43. Wind River has struggled against Burlington recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Shoshoni's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 6-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for Wind River, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Shoshoni and Wind River were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but Shoshoni came up empty-handed after a 46-45 loss. Can Shoshoni avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
