The Pleasant Hill Roosters/Chicks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Smith-Cotton Tigers on January 22nd.
Pleasant Hill suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Thursday. They were outmatched by Notre Dame de Sion on the road and fell 64-32. Pleasant Hill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.
Meanwhile, Smith-Cotton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Parkview 73-46 on the road. Given Smith-Cotton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Parkview is ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pleasant Hill's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Smith-Cotton, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Pleasant Hill came up short against Smith-Cotton when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 59-53. Can Pleasant Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
