There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Franklin got a 37 - 14 win over Dundalk last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Jamon Murphy. Murphy ran for 210 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. That performance landed Murphy among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Mount St. Joseph and Calvert Hall, 2nd and 3rd in the power rankings, respectively. Mount St. Joseph came out on top against Calvert Hall with a 21 - 7 win. Mount St. Joseph especially relied on junior Marlowe Wax, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns, and sophomore Billy Atkins, who tossed the ball for 269 yards and one TD.
No Stoppin 'Em
Arundel has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. The final score between it and Glen Burnie was a 61 - 14 blowout in Arundel's favor. Arundel was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. At 75 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Movin on Up
St. Paul's will have a better view of things this week after its strong showing last week propelled it eight spots up the power rankings. That was the biggest rise of the week. It scooted by Archbishop Curley with a score of 40 - 22. The Archbishop Curley defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 34 points per game), and St. Paul's took advantage of that.
