There's no place like home for the Brookfield Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Memorial on Monday by a score of 47-32 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). That result was just more of the same for these two, as Brookfield also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for Cailey Wellman, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Wellman is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mya Jumper, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Memorial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angelis Espada, who scored nine points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Espada grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Angeliz Diaz, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Brookfield pushed their record up to 7-12 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Memorial, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookfield will take on the G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Memorial, they will be playing at home against the Vikings at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. LaBrae presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Red Devils in Ohio (the Vikings are ranked 303rd, while the Red Devils are ranked 778th).
