The Campolindo Cougars will take on the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Campolindo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Campolindo will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Mt. Diablo on Thursday. The Cougars blew past the Red Devils 14-4. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Red Devils on their field since March 29, 2022.

Paige Williams made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucy Wilson, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Maya Hammerman was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four runs and one triple.
Campolindo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.2.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick-St. Vincent came up short against De Anza last Wednesday, falling 20-4. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaquelyn Benito, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Jasmyn Towns also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Campolindo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Everything went Campolindo's way against St. Patrick-St. Vincent in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Campolindo made off with a 19-3 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
