The Mergenthaler Vo-Tech Mustangs lost against the Forest Park Foresters back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech took a serious blow against Forest Park, falling 80-5. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aliyah Carroll was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points for Forest Park. Another player making a difference was NaJae Malik-El, who scored 13 points.
Mergenthaler Vo-Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Forest Park, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lewis at 5:45 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Forest Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Poly at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Poly focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Thursday.
