The Maeser Prep Academy Lions had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Rowland Hall 43-40. The victory was just what Maeser Prep Academy needed coming off of a 68-29 loss in their prior contest.
Leading Maeser Prep Academy to victory were Eleanor Hamberger and Autumn Dossey. Hamberger scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Dossey scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Octavia Mosher was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 17 rebounds.
Maeser Prep Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Rowland Hall, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maeser Prep Academy will play host again and welcome Tintic, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Tintic is ranked 128th, while Maeser Prep Academy is ranked 125th). Rowland Hall will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
