It's playoff time, and Burlington Christian Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Westchester Country Day Wildcats on Thursday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Will Grubb spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gib Wirt and Cooper Kelly did most of the damage at the plate: Wirt went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double, while Kelly went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Davis Phillips was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Burlington Christian Academy's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Westchester Country Day, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-12.

Looking ahead, Burlington Christian Academy will challenge Freedom Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Royals surely won't give up without a fight. Westchester Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
