The Honaker Tigers extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Rye Cove Eagles. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 28-18. The victory was just business as usual for Honaker, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
Aidan Lowe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 164 yards and three touchdowns, while also picking up 95 receiving yards. Peyton Musick was another key contributor, throwing for 251 yards and a touchdown while completing 81.5% of his passes.
Honaker's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.54 points. As for Rye Cove, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-2.
Honaker will play host again and welcome Galax, where kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Galax is ranked 115th, while Honaker is ranked 130th). Rye Cove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
