Armwood is 8-2 against King since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Armwood Hawks will head out to face off against the King Lions at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Armwood is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sickles on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Armwood came up short against Sickles, falling 58-38.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaliyah Bandy, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. She has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Jefferson, falling 64-42.
Like Armwood, King lost despite seeing results from several players. Heaven Pyfrom led the charge by putting up 18 points. That was a full 42.9% of King's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jakayla Nice, who had 12 points.
Armwood's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-2. As for King, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Armwood hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 58.9 points per game. It's a different story for King, though, as they've been averaging only 23.2 points. The only thing between Armwood and another offensive beatdown is King. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Armwood against King in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Armwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
