Palmer Ridge and Lewis-Palmer are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2021, but not for long. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rangers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Palmer Ridge has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Lewis-Palmer will arrive with four straight wins.
On Thursday, Palmer Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Air Academy and fell 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Palmer Ridge sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-5.
Cheyenne Mountain came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Lewis-Palmer, but Cady Knight wouldn't allow it. The Rangers put the hurt on the Red-Tailed Hawks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday for which the team can thank Knight, who had 20 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.
While Lewis-Palmer won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-22.
Palmer Ridge better focus on containing Maddie Unks and Bridgette Bogenrief as the pair were huge in Lewis-Palmer's win. Unks had five digs and four aces, while Bogenrief had eight kills and three digs. That's the most aces Unks has posted since back in September.
Lewis-Palmer now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Palmer Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
