Chino Hills and Los Osos are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grizzlies at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chino Hills won the last time they faced Upland and Yanizza Gutierrez did her part to make sure it happened again. The Huskies came out on top against the Highlanders/Scots by a score of 3-1 on Thursday with plenty of help from Gutierrez, who had 17 digs and nine aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.
Chino Hills had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-16, 25-11, 25-12.

Chino Hills found their leader in sophomore Gutierrez, who had 17 digs and nine aces. Elise Leung also set a new season-high mark in assists with 17.
Chino Hills was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They are 10-3 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Los Osos entered their tilt with Etiwanda on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Eagles 3-0.
Los Osos never let Etiwanda on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-21.
Los Osos' win came from a few key players Chino Hills will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chloe Taylor, who had 13 kills, seven digs, two aces, and one block. That's the most kills she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Hernandez, who had 14 digs, seven kills, and two aces.
Los Osos' win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Chino Hills, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
