Calaveras is a perfect 10-0 against Bret Harte since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Red Hawks will host the Bullfrogs at 4:00 p.m. Calaveras is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Calaveras fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Linden on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Kamryn Thornburg spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
Meanwhile, Bret Harte got the win against Riverbank on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-5. The Bullfrogs haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Madison Kane made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Kane was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Rylee Banks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Mariah Colwell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Calaveras' defeat dropped their record down to 14-7-1. As for Bret Harte, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calaveras has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bret Harte struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Calaveras took their win against Bret Harte in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 9-3 score. Will the Red Hawks repeat their success, or do the Bullfrogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
