It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs can now relate to. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots on Friday. Cardinal Gibbons has struggled against American Heritage recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Chiefs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Patrick Anderson jr., who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown. Cedric Wyche ll was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Byron Louis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for American Heritage, rushing for 230 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Cardinal Gibbons' defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for American Heritage, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Cardinal Gibbons does not have any more games scheduled as of now. American Heritage will be playing at home against Berkeley Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley Prep is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
